A 1914 church converted to a family home is on the market for the first time since it became a residential property.

The property at 19 Sheridan Street, Woodville North is marketed through Bianca Denham of Ray White Adelaide.

“The owners paid $360,000 for the church in 2009. They have since made extensive renovations to the property to convert it into a three Bedroom, two bathroom home,” Bianca said.

When the current owners, Paul and Tania Denisoff, bought the church in Woodville North four years ago, it had been damaged by fire. They restored the damage and created a family home.

“The church itself has been restored to include polished charcoal baltic pine floorboards, wine cellar storage, 6.7 metre vaulted ceilings and timber cathedral style windows.

“Our favourite things about the property are the big open light-filled spaces in the church and hall. The ceilings soar - you could kick a footy around if you wanted to!” Paul said.

“We also designed some pretty quirky additions for the kids that we love - underfloor toy chests and a raised play alcove area in kids the bedroom.”

The family home is attached to the church hall and Bianca says there’s scope to add further value.

“The church remains almost original, however the transformation to the adjoining hall and addition of the home offers a truly unique property.

“As it stands, the home offers a beautiful standard of living, however, buyers could consider taking the current conversion further into the church or look at options for separating the two buildings to maximise the use of the residential accommodation.

“Subject to council consents and imagination the possibilities are endless,” Bianca explains.

The property at 19 Sheridan Street, Woodville North goes to auction on 11 October 2014 onsite at 10am.
