On Saturday 31 August, Ray White Surfers Paradise held their annual Muscular Dystrophy Ball for the 20th year in a row at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast.

Andrew, Greg, Sandy and Janine Bell embarked on a mission to raise funds and awareness in 1993 and they never imagined how much of their lives would be devoted to this cause.

Close to $3 million has been raised, split equally between research and supplying much needed help to families whose children are affected by this debilitating disease.

The Gold Coast Bulletin donated $10,000 for the cause, while a house and land in Georgia, USA, sold for $US67,000 which, as Andrew Bell said from the stage, wouldn't pay for a parking space in the Sydney CBD.

To all involved, congrats on another sensational night.
