Real estate in the Perth suburb of Baldivis proved to be particularly popular last week, according to new figures from the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA).
The latest figures, which are for the seven-day period ending May 1, indicate that overall, the Perth suburbs located south of the river proved to be more appealing to buyers than their northern counterparts. In terms of overall sales figures, the three highest-selling suburbs were all located south of the river.
Baldivis was the most popular, recording 26 sales over the past week. It was closely followed by real estate in Rockingham, with 19 sales, and Gosnells, with 18.
On the other side of the river, East Perth also recorded 18 sales, while 15 properties were sold in Balga and 13 homes changed hands in Morley.
The number of properties listed for sale across Perth last week totaled 8,667 - including 5,705 house sales and 1,579 units. The majority of other properties listed for Perth were comprised of land packages.
According to REIWA, this is largely in line with the 8,260 properties for sale in Perth four weeks ago, although it is below the 13,669 homes on the market last year.
However, the total properties listed for rent has increased by just under 800 last week compared to the same period a year ago, climbing from 2,463 to 3,200.
