An architectural triumph of the highest caliber, this world-class residence has left nothing undone in its quest to provide the ultimate retreat.
Set to a mesmerising Middle Harbour backdrop, this relaxed coastal haven exudes style and sophistication.
With expressions of interest, circa $5 million, a supreme lifestyle beckons in one of Sydney’s most exclusive and sublime cul-de-sacs nudging the tranquil shores of Sandy Bay.
The award-winning five-bedroom Clontarf residence was designed by premier Australian architect Adrian Membery.
Featured in a variety of glossy home and lifestyle magazines, including Vogue Living, Bathrooms Australia, Trend and Home Beautiful, the property is a testament to premium Australian coastal architecture.
The open plan living area with it’s soaring void offers a wonderful sensation of space and the home has an outdoor entertaining deck surrounding the pool, overlooking the beach.
There are timber floors throughout, except for carpeted bedrooms. The large rooftop terrace, with galley kitchen and an external sail covered dining area, is surrounded by greenery and bathed in sunlight that passes through the skylights and quadrant vault into the three story void, filling the entire house with natural light.
“I designed it specifically for our family of six”, says Adrian.
“It’s a house where we can wear bathers during the day and have a black tie dinner at night while not feeling out of place. A resort feel that perfectly caters for families and entertainers”.
“The view is just beautiful. There is a real intimacy created by the mooring of boats in the bay. You hear the gentle lapping of waves and clinking of yachts as you drift off to sleep."
The luxurious double lock up garage doubles as an entertaining area, with its timber floor, reticulated music and glass garage door, that disappears into a bulkhead.
Its location at the rear of the property, adjacent to the living area, is accessed from a side street avoiding the awkwardness of a street front garage.
“We spared no expense on materials and construction,” says Adrian, adding that a sound system is integrated throughout the house.
The kitchen was fully replaced in late 2015 with Miele appliances and Italian reconstituted granite bench tops.
It is a very unique home and benefits from direct level access onto the beach. Only meters to walk to your boat at Clontarf Marina or Clontarf Reserve.
Other features include a loft-style study area, media retreat and master bedroom with walk-through robe, ensuite and balcony overlooking the bay.
Sandy Bay is the perfect location for those seeking the tranquility of Sydney's Northern Beaches whilst maintaining a convenient proximity to the city. Public transport is easy and surf beaches are a few minutes drive away.
The property is open to expressions of interest circa $5 million. Selling agent, Anna Van Schie from Ray White Balgowlah cited the recent sale of 5 Peronne Avenue, Clontarf for $5.2 million as relevant to the guide.
