Ray White continues to expand in New South Wales with the opening of its newest office in Balgowlah today.
Signalling strong movement in the Sydney market, the owners of Ray White Balgowlah, Melissah Douglas and Andrew White were listing and selling properties before their office officially opened.
“We’ve had an enormously encouraging start as new business owners. it’s particularly exciting that we were able to achieve our first sale so quickly,” Melissah said.
“Our first sale was in Waterloo; an off the plan apartment in the newly developed ‘Diversity’ complex. With our vendor in Indonesia, we negotiated the entire deal through skype and email.
The apartment was highly sought after from buyers who missed out on the pre-sale and we had offers within the first week. Our vendor accepted an offer of $715,000 and the property is due to settle this month,” she said.
Melissah and Andrew believe the Balgowlah property markets is among the strongest on the northern beaches
“In the last 12 months, 65 per cent of of sales in Balgowlah were over $1m. and the market is showing no signs of slowing down,” Andrew said
Melissah and Andrew have switched from the Ray White Sydney corporate office to franchisee owners and both bring strong financial backgrounds to the business.
“Between the two of us, we’ve collectively worked with Ray White corporate for 16 years. When we made the decision to open our own business, we knew Ray White had the best training and technology available so there was no question of what brand to align with,” Mr White said.
A market dominated by independent agencies, Melissah and Andrew bring a wealth of support to Balgowlah.
“In my past roles I spent a lot of time working closely with Ray White franchisees all over NSW,” Melissah said.
“This has provided me with invaluable experience and bodes well for my new career as a local Ray White business owner. We’re excited to put into practice the great tools Ray White offers to achieve a great outcome for our community.”
A long-time local, Melissah has lived in Balgowlah for ten years. Andrew fell in love with the area when working on a project there, and the duo decided it was the best place for their new business.
“My move to the Northern Beaches really has felt like coming home. I am really enjoying getting to know the local business owners, the people and of course, taking my two boys to the beach on the weekends,” Andrew said.
For the new business partners, their ambition is clear: to stand out from the pack.
“We don’t just want to sell property, we want to be educators in the marketplace - to take the time to ensure our clients are equipped with the knowledge they need to make the best decision for them,” Andrew concludes.
