TRUST is everything when it comes to choosing the right agent to sell a prized asset and that's exactly what Lauren and Matthew King had in Ray White Gladstone Director/Auctioneer Phillip Mercieca - enough to even cut a campaign in half and sell two weeks early.

Mr Mercieca, along with Sales Consultant Dom Zampaglione, made the right choice as they sold 52 Clarke Drive (above) for $710,000 - $50,000 over the reserve price.

Vendors Mr King, a licensed surveyor and Mrs King, an operations specialist for the Good Guys, moved to Bendigo a year ago to be closer to family and for more opportunities.

They rented the house because they weren’t ready to let go but decided they loved Bendigo and were ready to sell as soon as the tenants moved out.

“We didn’t have to sell but we decided it was the best move. We spent a lot of money getting it fixed up, just worthwhile things we would have done anyway. had we stayed and it made it nicer to sell,” Mr King said.

“We've never sold before but we always knew we would get Phil to sell our house because we’ve lived in the area for a long time and we've seen what he can do.

“Phil said let’s book the auction for August 15, which we thought was quick, but necessary. If it wasn’t for Phil then we’d still be choosing paint colours.

“Ten days ago, he said that looking at the market and the interest we’re getting we should bring the auction forward two weeks, which we obviously did.

“I was a little bit apprehensive about selling but I would highly recommend auctions and online auctioning. The experience was great and we’re so happy with the result.”

“These vendors were wary of going on the market but they saw low stock levels and decided to list anyway,” Mr Mercieca (above) said.

“The home had such good interest that we changed the campaign from four weeks to two weeks. Today’s result just shows that demand is outweighing supply right now.

“It was a great result and everyone is really happy with the outcome.

“There have been so many potential bidders even with all the doom and gloom predictions. They're certainly not being deterred and we’ve had an average of four to six bidders registering for our auctions since Stage Three lockdown began.”
