WITH some progressive thinking and quick innovation the Ray White Brunswick office in Melbourne’s northern suburbs has found themselves well placed to adapt to real estate’s ‘new normal’.

Following the impressive sale of 3/46-48 John St, Brunswick East (pictured above) which was snapped up before auction by a local couple for $807,000, selling agent Matthew Schroeder said that much of their success would not be possible without their ability to adapt.

“You have to be quick and adapt because if you're not prepared for the new normal then you’ll get left behind, we are very fortunate our team is both onsite and offsite so we have experience working apart and still staying connected really well,” Mr Schroeder said.

“We were already putting things in place like cloud based technology and were shifting that way anyway so all this did was put a time constraint on that - instead of a month we had to turn it around in a few days.”

After a rollercoaster campaign fellow Brunswick sales agent Adbul Allouche and office director Jamil Allouche sold 26 Sahara Way, Fawkner (pictured above) for well above market expectations.

“Originally the property went to auction on February 29 but passed in at $840,000, afterwards we had a few families come through and then when COVID-19 came along we had a reduction of people looking to inspect,” Mr Allouche said.

Despite the doom and gloom predictions, Mr Allouche found there were still plenty of eager buyers out there and sold the property through private sale for $860,000.

The property seller David Falkiner said that while the timing isn’t perfect he is thrilled with the result and won’t be deterred from buying or selling in the coming months.

“No one could have predicted what would happen, a lot of people pulled their houses off the market and my wife and I decided from a gut feeling that we wouldn't do that and luckily that was the right thing to do and it sold,” Mr Falkiner said.

Mr Allouche said he has seen some great results coming out of the office over the past few weeks that are due to the hard work of his agents and staff.

“I’m so proud of them, they've adapted really quickly, they haven't dragged their feet and have seized any opportunity to go digital from Docusigning to online digital auction platforms,” he said.

“I won’t lie, it has been hard but we have been rallying together and the energy has been great.”
