Having worked together in the highly regarded Ray White Unley office for close to a decade, the pair are now branching out to lead the Colonel Light Gardens business while maintaining strong ties and collaboration with the Unley team.

The move marks a natural progression for Robbie and Joe, who have built strong reputations across Adelaide’s inner south through their energy, customer focus, and proven ability to achieve outstanding results for sellers.

“We’ve both spent nearly 10 years in the Ray White Unley office, so there’s a huge amount of respect and gratitude for everything we’ve learned there,” Robbie said.

“There will still be a strong sense of togetherness between the two offices, particularly with the property management department being a joint venture across both locations. We’re incredibly excited to now take the reins at Colonel Light Gardens and build something special together.”

The new leadership team is launching with immediate momentum, having two established teams and a total of eight staff members, alongside the recent appointment of a new operations manager to support the business’s next phase of growth.

Joe Marriott began his real estate career in 2015 before joining Ray White Unley, where he and Robbie Smith developed extensive local expertise across Colonel Light Gardens and the surrounding suburbs. Robbie is also well known for his expertise as one of the best auctioneers in South Australia, such an advantage to deliver exceptional results for their clients by creating competition in the market place.

For both leaders, remaining with the Ray White network was an easy decision.

“When you look at what Ray White provides, particularly across the South Australian market, the strength of the brand is undeniable, selling 1 in 4 properties across the state,” Joe said.

“The systems, support, technology and innovation available through Ray White make it incredibly easy to transition seamlessly and hit the ground running. We know the business, we know the people, and we’re excited to take it to the next level.”

The pair also highlighted Ray White’s technology platform, including NurtureCloud and raywhite.com, as a key advantage in helping agents deliver stronger client experiences and results, whilst also maintaining long-term relationships with buyers and sellers.

Located in one of Adelaide’s most distinctive and tightly held suburbs, the Colonel Light Gardens office sits at the heart of a unique community known for its character, history, and family appeal.

“Colonel Light Gardens is such a special part of Adelaide,” Robbie said.

“It was designed as a garden suburb in the 1920s, so it has this beautiful, picturesque feel with wide streets, reserves, sporting clubs and stunning character homes on large allotments. It’s very family-oriented and has a real identity to it.”

As business owners, Robbie and Joe say their focus extends beyond sales results alone.

“As a team, we bring great energy and a real commitment to achieving the best possible results for all of our clients,” Joe said.

“Long-term, we also want to grow people. Our vision is to build a business where multiple agents are the clear market leaders of their focus areas around the office, and developing successful careers with the help of our leadership.”

Over the next 12 months, the duo plan to focus on expanding their market presence, strengthening their local team, and creating opportunities for emerging agents to thrive within the business.

“We’re excited about the future, with ambition and plans to grow into new markets as well, specifically Blackwood and surrounding suburbs” Mr Marriott added.

Asha Nash, Lachlan Turner and Kimberley Yeeles will be leading Property Management at Ray White Colonel Light Gardens and continuing to manage the Unley Property Management department. Having worked with Joe and Robbie for many years, they’re excited by the opportunity to build a great business together, delivering exceptional service and local expertise to both landlords and tenants.

With deep local knowledge, strong community connections, and the backing of Australia’s leading real estate brand, Robbie Smith and Joe Marriott are well positioned to lead Ray White Colonel Light Gardens into its next phase of success.

Matt Lindblom, CEO of Ray White South Australia | Northern Territory, said Robbie Smith and Joe Marriott represented the next generation of leadership within the group.

“Robbie and Joe have earned this opportunity through years of consistent high performance, leadership and an unwavering commitment to their clients and community,” Matt said.

“They’ve built outstanding reputations within the Ray White Unley business and I have no doubt they’ll bring that same energy, professionalism and ambition to Colonel Light Gardens. It’s exciting to see two highly respected operators take this next step together, and we’re looking forward to supporting them as they continue to grow their business and team.”
