A total of 22 properties were presented to the market on the night, with an immediate 55 per cent clearance rate, and a further 5-6 properties currently in advanced negotiations within 24 hours post-event - positioning the overall result to climb significantly in the coming days.
The event attracted a strong crowd of more than 170 attendees, alongside over 50 registered bidders competing across the portfolio, resulting in more than $14,000,000 worth of real estate transacted on the night. Many of the auctions proved hotly contested, with a number of properties attracting five or more registered bidders, highlighting the competitive nature of the current marketplace.
Despite recent market commentary around rising interest rates and increasing fuel costs, buyer engagement remained resilient throughout the evening.
“There has been a lot of noise in the market in recent weeks in relation to interest rates increasing and the price of fuel rising, and in some cases this has caused certain buyers to pause,” said Dan Sowden, Director of Ray White Maroochydore and Buderim.
“What was particularly interesting, however, was the depth of the buyer market on the Sunshine Coast. As one buyer stepped back, another entered the negotiation. That depth continues to underpin the strength of our local market.”
The standout story of the evening belonged to Kyle and Emily Sunderland, who achieved a rare and seamless property transition, selling and buying all in one night.
The Sunderland family successfully sold their home in Turnipwood prior to auction with multiple offers for the unique price of $1,222,439.86, before confidently stepping into the market as buyers. Later that same evening, they secured their next family home at 8 Palmyra Crescent, Buderim, purchasing the five-bedroom property under the hammer for $1,600,000, doubling as the highlight sale of the night.
Ray White Buderim Principal, Jake Loiero, who worked closely with the Sunderland family throughout the process, described the outcome as exceptional.
“It was the perfect result for Kyle, Emily and their family. It is a fantastic example of what’s possible when the right strategy, preparation, and timing all align,” Mr Loiero said.
“We see many families struggle with the uncertainty of selling first and then finding their next home. To be able to facilitate both transactions seamlessly on the same night for the Sunderlands is incredibly rewarding - not just for them, but for our entire team.”
The Auctions at Altitude platform continues to prove its value as a high-impact sales environment, bringing together motivated buyers and sellers in a competitive, transparent setting.
With strong in-room energy and post-auction negotiations already progressing, the final clearance rate is expected to strengthen further in the days ahead, reinforcing confidence in the Sunshine Coast market as one of the most active and resilient in the country.
