The five-bedroom, three-bathroom vintage masterpiece at 35 Werona Avenue, Killara is being marketed by Ray White Upper North Shore sales agent Jessica Cao with a price guide of $4M.

The property goes under the hammer on 30 May.

The brick Art Deco home sits on a 1,239sqm north-to-rear block, located steps from Killara station and within the Killara High School catchment

Following the passing of Anne Milson’s mum in November 2024, the property is being sold for the first time in more than 60 years.

“I was six years old when we arrived, and it was a perfect place to grow up,” said Ms Milson, the eldest of the three siblings.

“We spent our childhood exploring the bush tracks leading to Middle Harbour and playing with a tight-knit group of friends along the street.

“It’s a substantial home that was built to last."

The residence is noted for its functional single-level living and period details, including signature curves, high ceilings, and hardwood floors.

Key features include a sunroom with a bay window used as a sewing retreat, a grand lounge room, and a primary suite with a private ensuite.

Ms Milson said her mum loved the sun room and would often do her sewing there.

She said her dad loved the big lounge room.

“Dad loved music, I remember he had a big stereo set up there,” Ms Milson said.

Unique to the property is a collection of lower-level utility rooms which supported the family's creative pursuits.

“My brother was a photographer, and one of the lower rooms was used as a dark room for his work,” Ms Milson said.

“This level also includes a wine cellar, workshop, and internal access from the garage.”

The grounds feature established gardens, sandstone-paved entertaining areas, and a saltwater pool shielded by high-hedged camellia walls.

With its original 1930s craftsmanship intact - including a drive-through portico and period fireplaces - the property represents a rare opportunity to acquire a largely original estate in a premier location, Ms Milson said.
