Real estate in Sydney may be seeing a revamp, particularly in Epping where the state government is planning a redevelopment under the Urban Activation Precincts program.
The New South Wales government is seeking community feedback for the revival of the Epping Town Centre, with state planning minister Brad Hazzard explaining that they are looking to transform the area into a vibrant and appealing place where they can have easy access to jobs and transport.
He said: "By 2036, residents of the Epping Town Centre precinct will be able to reach 900,000 jobs within 30 minutes by public transport - and that doesn't include jobs in the CBD that are 35 minutes away.
"Parramatta and Hornsby councils nominated the precinct for this initiative and we will continue to consult closely with councils and the local community."
These reforms plan for 3,650 pieces of residential real estate, in addition to retail, commercial, community and local service real estate.
A number of restrictions have been taken into account for the planned redevelopment, including limiting the growth of residential areas, so that heritage and conservation efforts are protected.
Additionally, maximum density will be achieved through building taller residential blocks that are closer to public transport.
