Australasia's largest real estate group, Ray White, is preparing for another busy weekend of auctions with a wide range of properties going under the hammer, from century-old villas to mountain retreats.
Research from around the grounds suggests these hot five homes are worth tracking this Saturday when they are scheduled to go to auction.
Downsizers wanting to live in an established and leafy pocket just east of Melbourne’s CBD are keen on a brand-new townhouse (above) at 57 Florence Rd, Surrey Hills.
“It’s on its own block of land, so there’s no body corporate or common property,” Ray White Blackburn’s Mark Edwards said.
“It’s got very good street appeal, is a great size, there’s a private courtyard at the rear and city views from the second floor.”
Mr Edwards, who will be calling the 11am auction this Saturday, said Surrey Hills is a tightly held established suburb full of beautiful older homes.
The price guide is $1.8 million - $1.9 million.
Further east, around 32kms outside of Melbourne’s CBD, is the 11am auction of 41 Hazelwood Rd, Boronia.
The 2007sq m property is framed by a beautiful picket fence with a remote gate, which hides a renovated four-bedroom single level home (above).
Ray White Glen Waverley’s Lindsay Xu said buyers are drawn to Boronia for its affordability and lifestyle.
“The location in this pocket of Boronia is very good – convenient, close to shops, trains and schools,” Ms Xu said.
“It’s quiet and relaxing with a walking path just behind the property.”
The contemporary family house is surrounded by plenty of level lawn, a paved entertaining space plus an enclosed play zone with a cubby, soft matting and synthetic turf.
The price guide statement of information reveals an indicative selling price of $1.080 million - $1.180 million.
Also scheduled for Saturday morning is the Adelaide auction of 20 Bishops Ave, Alberton.
Ray White Port Adelaide principal Nick Psarros said the three-bedroom home (above) on a large 933sq m block had received a good level of interest.
“We’ve got a lot of first home buyers, in the higher range, as well as those people upsizing and wanting to buy a classic 1910 villa on a large parcel of land," he said.
“If you want to buy a house in the suburbs that has a country feel, this is the home for you.”
Alberton is a popular older area around 11kms northwest of Adelaide’s CBD.
A renovated Queenslander at 29 Addison St, Red Hill is also available to buy under the hammer before midday this Saturday.
The charming early-20th century home (above) is less than 4kms from Brisbane’s CBD and within the desirable Ithaca Creek State School and Kelvin Grove State College catchment zones.
“We’re looking at people who are downsizing, and also executive couples are looking at it,” Ray White Paddington’s Angela Mastrapostolos said.
“Red Hill is a fabulous location; very quiet yet central.”
On Saturday afternoon, Ray White Blackheath sales consultant Peter Torok is managing the auction of a gorgeous 20.23ha Blue Mountains property (above) at 174-184 Shipley Rd, Blackheath.
“This is a prestige listing for the area,” Mr Torok said.
“It’s probably one of the only places that has cleared acreage. To find something like this with usable land, it’s pretty hard to find.
“The house itself is beautiful, it is a perfect hobby farm for Sydneysiders wanting a tree change and it’s only minutes from the village.”
Mr Torok said the property is going to auction with a price guide of around $2 million.
