Set on 6003sqm at 32 Remembrance Drive, Cardigan, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home features dual living under one roof.

The property has been listed with a price guide between $2.6 million to $2.8 million and is being marketed by Ray White Ballarat agent Giovanni Piazza.

Owners Kim and Rob Tempany said the decision to build came when Mrs Tempany’s father's health began to change.

“My father was diagnosed with cancer and there was no way he wanted to go into care, but it was obvious both mum and dad were going to need some support” Mrs Tempany said.

“We thought, let's buy some space and build something where we can live independently but together - one house, but two homes joined together. It was the best thing we ever did.”

The home was designed with two substantial wings connected by central living zones, allowing the residence to function as one expansive family home or as two separate yet connected living domains.

The main wing includes a private master suite, generous living areas and a well-appointed kitchen, along with an internal-access single garage.

The second wing operates almost as its own residence, with additional bedrooms, a separate kitchen, living space and an internal-access double garage - offering genuine autonomy for extended family, guests or potential Airbnb use.

Custom-built by the prestigious Bryan Peterson Home Builders, the property is set among immaculately maintained established gardens, manicured lawns and mature trees, with a picturesque dam as the centrepiece of the grounds - complete with the option to fish and canoe.

For the Tempany family, the dam and its surrounds became the backdrop for many of life's most significant moments.

“My father was a passionate gardener and my husband is a builder, so together they built a beautiful gazebo near the dam and dad planted climbing roses and nurtured the gardens” Mrs Tempany said.

“During COVID we had so much space - we celebrated our daughter's 21st there, and all four of our grandchildren played on those lawns.

“Our daughter had her wedding photos taken there.”

When Mrs Tempany’s father passed away in 2020, the home continued to provide comfort and connection for the family.

Now, the Tempanys are ready to downsize - with Mrs Tempany’s mother moving close to them into an apartment complex in town.

“This home has supported our family through many stages of life," Mrs Tempany said.

“We hope it offers the same sense of care, connection and warmth to the next family who calls it home.”
