A SENSATIONAL slice of Stradbroke Island and a former British consul’s home at Kenmore are two of around 50 properties scheduled to sell at Ray White Queensland’s Brisbane Auction Spectacular event on Sunday, September 9.

More than 200 people are expected to gather in the Sky Room & Terrace at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for a 10.30am start, with registrations opening at 10:00am.

"We will be conducting 104 auctions this weekend, with 48 of those going under the hammer at the Ray White Brisbane Auction Spectacular,” Ray White Queensland chief auctioneer Mitch Peereboom said.

"We are thrilled by the collective commitment of so many Ray White members who come together this weekend for the largest property auction event of spring 2018. It is our ambition to create competition as we showcase a diverse range of properties on Sunday, ranging from entry-level inner-city apartments to some of Brisbane's most prestigious properties."

Buyers on Sunday have the exciting opportunity to purchase a piece of history, as a former British Consulate home at 10-12 Gladesville Street, Kenmore goes under the hammer.

The 1763sq m property (above) housed the England cricket team on numerous occasions and, as rumour has it, also welcomed Prince Charles and Princess Anne.

Ray White Toowong agent Kris Matthews said buyers should take advantage of the opportunity to own something of real history.

“How many people can say they own a property lived in by a British consulate for 32 years? This property is truly steeped in history,” he said.

“The granny flat – that provides true separation for families – was built in response to 9/11, to allow two Australian Federal Police officers to live on-site. This property has it all. Close to amenities, only 10kms from the CBD and with a large slice of history attached, we expect an exciting auction day.”

Ray White North Stradbroke Island agent Chris Ransley is adamant that 21 Mooloomba Road, Point Lookout is the best block of land left on North Stradbroke Island.

The 582sq m site (above), zoned mixed use, is the only parcel of vacant land included in Sunday’s auction order.

“Hands down, this is the best block left on Straddie as it overlooks Frenchman’s Beach and the Coral Sea. The opportunities on this vacant block are endless on such a prized site of this calibre,” Mr Ransley said.

“People love Straddie for its lifestyle and the fact it’s not the Gold Coast and those people who love the island would never consider going anywhere else.”

The block is surrounded by quality homes and mixed use businesses and is adjacent to the entrance to the fabulous Gorge Walk.

The views are spectacular and the headland where this block is located is one of the best land-based whale watching locations on the east coast of Australia.

Closer to Brisbane’s CBD and tightly-held for three decades is 100 Oriel Rd, Clayfield.

The cherished family home (above) is going to auction on Sunday, with Ray White New Farm’s Tom Lyne managing the auction campaign.

The 2034sq m estate includes manicured gardens, sparkling infinity pool, alfresco terrace, pavilion and championship-size tennis court.

Mr Peereboom said hundreds of buyers were expected to attend the Auction Spectacular event, which a wonderful variety of properties all available to buy under the one roof.

"Events like these are only successful when complemented by comprehensive marketing statements, and the combination of digital, social and print elements has attracted buyers from all over the world,” he said.

“We are running an online bidding platform to be inclusive of all buyers wanting to participate in the auctions. Technology is critical."

Mr Peereboom said large in-room auction events, such as this one, provided an interesting gauge on current market conditions.

"We are looking forward to a significant day of sales and it will be an excellent opportunity to take the temperature of the market in Brisbane,” he said.
