Internationally renowned stone mason and landscaper Martin Stautner and his partner, kinesiologist Karen Poole, are selling their renovated country farmhouse on an idyllic hinterland property on the outskirts of Coffs Harbour on the NSW mid-north coast.
The 116 acre rural property with 1km of pristine river frontage and a farmhouse built more than a century ago at 356 North Island Loop Road, Orara, is being marketed by Ray White Coffs Harbour’s David Moppett.
Mr Stautner is the owner and director of Solid Stone Constructions, which specialises in feature walls for buildings and landscaping with stone.
The work of Solid Stone Constructions is on display all over north coast NSW, including at the homes of numerous high profile business identities and entertainment personalities. Mr Stautner has also worked in Switzerland for high quality landscape construction company Bachler and Guttingerag.
Mr Stautner and Ms Poole are selling their cherished farmhouse property as their life commitments have pushed them further north.
Mr Moppett said the Orara property has only had two owners and it is of major local historical significance dating back to before the Great War.
“This renovated four bedroom home is a magnificent example of a well restored 100 year old country farmhouse and it is an amazing place to retire or raise a family in a beautiful rural retreat,” he said.
“The farmhouse is typical of its period and belongs to an important group of pioneer buildings that featured local hardwoods and late 19th century building skills and craftsmanship.
“The current owners have certainly appreciated living in the farmhouse and they have faithfully added another wing to this wonderful old property utilising iconic solid stone in keeping with its grandeur.”
Mr Moppett said a feature of the farmhouse is the 12 foot ceilings and polished floor boards throughout.
“Outside the in-ground swimming pool has lovely views over the countryside, while the large established gardens include many rare native rainforest trees and shrubs as well as 100 year old hoop pines,” he said.
The Orara property is only a short drive to Coffs Harbour’s beautiful beaches and its shopping centres, education, medical, recreation and transport facilities.
The home is on the market for offers over $950,000.
