LAST week’s lockdown wasn’t enough to dampen the spirits of the Ray White Victoria and Tasmania network after achieving another personal best month in May.

Across Victoria and Tasmania, Australasia’s leading property group recorded $1.16 billion worth of unconditional sales, beating the March 2021 personal best of $1.07 billion. All while spending part of the month in lockdown.Ray White Victoria and Tasmania CEO Stephen Dullens (pictured above) said he was thrilled at the strong performance across the board, with great results being achieved for Ray White customers.“What a difference a year makes with - this time last year there was much uncertainty around property and the real estate outlook. Fast forward 12 months and these are some of the best conditions we have seen across our 119 year history,” Mr Dullens said.“This month we proudly assisted thousands of families as we transacted nearly 1,500 sales.”Many Ray White offices also have further cause to be proud after they achieved their own personal bests. All up, 13 offices achieved their best ever results during May, a sign once again of the frantic activity being completed by the teams as well as the strong market conditions. While Melbournians may be feeling deja vu with lockdown restrictions back in effect, Ray White Victoria has online auctions down to a fine art. The network called more than 100 online auctions last week in response to lockdown conditions and achieved an 88 per cent clearance rate.May auction figures have risen to new heights with a clearance rate of 83 per cent of the total 834 auctions selling. This compared to a clearance rate of 67 percent on the same time last year, where only 205 properties went to auction under a yellow banner. This represents a more than 300 percent increase in auctions conducted year on year.Ray White Victoria and Tasmania chief auctioneer Matthew Condon said he is excited to continue assisting customers, despite the changing conditions.“We’ve been running auctions online for over a year now and have called well in excess of 2,500 online auctions across Victoria,” Mr Condon said.“This meant that a change to restrictions across Victoria was an easy adjustment for our teams, and we’ll continue to see auctions move online this weekend in Melbourne with restrictions extended.”As Victorians continue to monitor the news for signs of the lockdown ending Mr Dullens said it is pleasing to see restrictions easing across regional Victoria, where customers can once again physically inspect sale and rental properties.“While it is disappointing for our Melbourne customers that strict restrictions have been extended, we recognise the need to operate with the safety of our customers, team members and the community as our top priority. We look forward to working closely with the government and authorities as restrictions ease and Melbourne continues to open up," he said.
