Some 1500 members from across Ray White Queensland attended the 2024-25 annual awards held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre last night.

From Cairns to Coolangatta, Ray White Queensland CEO Jason Andrew (pictured above) said it was incredible to have so many members gather to celebrate the year that was.

“The architecture of our awards recognizes your performances over the financial year, but equally, tonight we get the chance to reset; to fill our ambition cups and steadfastly commit to what is required to ensure that the year ahead will be our best yet,” Mr Andrew said.

“I put it to you that tonight’s award winners have found the right mix of proving out their value and coupled this with the injection of volume into their businesses.

“This change in our award winners is noticeable; remarkable even.

“If you ascend these stairs tonight, I hope you take the time to remember how far you have come and the distinct variations that you’ve made along the way. And I hope that tonight shows everyone what’s possible when you do so.

“This stage has always brought to life Brian White’s great aphorism; we are a company of ambition.”

The most prestigious award of the night is the Max White Award, which is given each year to an individual who had made the most significant contribution to the Ray White Group in Queensland.

In its 45th year, the Max White Award went to Larry Malan of Ray White Malan and Co.

“This was a huge surprise and I feel really quite humbled. To enjoy this award properly, I’d really like my wife and my sons to join me. We’re a family office, and we’re a big team,” Mr Malan said.

“I just want to say to the 1500 people who are out there tonight. Anything is possible.

“We moved here 30 years ago because there were problems in Africa and we decided this was the best place for us to grow a family and we were rewarded by a fantastic place without strife.

“We came here with no money, I got a job doing some snack food business which didn't work well for me. So I thought ‘the only thing I can do is real estate’.

“I got a job with the Ray White Group, and the story began. With the support of this unique, fantastic family, with them as your backbone and guiding light, every single person in this room can achieve their dreams.

“Even if you’ve been a receptionist in your business for five days, dare to dream. You can achieve whatever you want to in this business with the support of this fantastic team.”

Ray White New Farm once again took out the top spot as the number one Ray White office in the state by settled commission. The powerhouse agency, headed up by Matt Lancashire and Haesley Cush comes under the Ray White Collective (pictured above) banner, which was named the Top Business - Settled Commission again. Ray White Collective includes offices across New Farm, Bulimba, Toowong, Clayfield, Kim Olsen Property.

“I didn’t prepare a speech and, for most of the night, I thought I wouldn’t need one, because we have such a great state and amazing competition. I am thrilled for all the winners here tonight,” Mr Cush said.

“I just want to begin by acknowledging that our group benefited significantly from the work of a life member here today, Brett Graham and Jenny Graham. Brett was the architect of the multi-office network that worked together in collaboration.

“If you can imagine 20 years ago my hairline was much closer to my eyebrows, and it was 20 years ago this month that I bought Ray White New Farm. As a 27 year old kid I had no money, a big motor to work, but no plan. In 2012, a young man by the name of Matt Lancashire said ‘I’ll buy your business’. I had no plan other than to work really hard, and grow, so I said, ‘why not’.

“So Matt bought Ray White New Farm and he ran it for five years. In 2017 we got together we figured out that 1+1 doesn’t equal two, and that by working together and collaborating that 1+1 could equal anything.

“You only have to see the volume of the businesses that got on stage tonight to see that the legacy of Brett’s is alive and well in our group.

“To the White family - Brian, I couldn't love another man as much as I love you. When you speak, everyone in the room drinks up every word. Dan, you and the entire White family should be so proud of what you’ve created.

“If you don't work in a group that drives you, you’re in a boat without a motor.

“To the great people of Ray White New Farm, you are the motor of the Ray White Collective.

“Twenty years ago as a kid when I sat up at the back of the room and stared at the dot that was the stage, I never dreamed we’d get up here, so I am thrilled. I'm thrilled to work with you every day.”
