IT MAY not be a standard listing, but that won’t stop the coral and turquoise Bathing Box 10 on Frankston Beach from being considered hot property this summer.

Selling through Ray White Frankston Principal Ashley Weston, the bathing box will be going to auction on November 14 at 1:30pm with bidding expected to begin at $90,000. However, inner city beach bums are out of luck as the box can only be leased to someone paying rates to the Frankston City Council.

The 6m by 4m, candy coloured bathing box looks out over Frankston beach, in a prime beachside location. Perfectly placed for lifestyle lovers, it can be found on the exclusive Long Island stretch just off Gould Street.

While it may be small, the box represents a sought after purchase for many Melbournians in the area who will be summering closer to home this year. Mr Weston said this has been reflected in the huge response he has received from potential buyers.

“It’s such a great opportunity that doesn’t come up very often. There hasn’t been a Frankston bathing box sale in a couple of years,” Mr Weston said.

“It’s a rare opportunity and really good for those who want to holiday away from home and own their own piece of the Frankston foreshore.

“Interest has particularly been coming from people living on acreage in homes that unfortunately aren’t within close proximity to the beach.

Mr Weston said the six year old bathing box was in such high demand because it provided plenty of room to stash paddleboards, beach umbrellas, kayaks and Eskies when the summer weather hits.

“You’ll never need to tote anything to the beach again,” Mr Weston said.

“Relish easy breezy, summers at the beach, which is only a leisurely stroll along the sand to the Lifesaving Club and Waves on the Beach Restaurant.

“The Yacht Club, pier, Sofia’s Restaurant, Waterfront Festival site, boardwalk and playground are just beyond your own slice of beach side paradise.”
