Ray White Canberra clears 100% under virtual hammer
Powerhouse agency Ray White Canberra has recorded 100 per cent clearance success at their online auctions held in the capital in the current lockdown.
Powerhouse agency Ray White Canberra has recorded 100 per cent clearance success at their online auctions held in the capital in the current lockdown.
The leading group sold 9/9 via online auctions in the six days prior to Thursday August 19, and last night sold another five under the virtual hammer for a combined $13,748,50 in total value.
Ray White Canberra founder Ben Faulks said every auction booked had an acceptable pre-auction offer but their agents either ran the course, or brought the auction forward and created competition.
“Fortune favours the brave in this new normal environment. In one instance the offer that would have been accepted was 40% more than the acceptable offer received 24 hours prior. Another would have sold at $950,000 and that went for $1.145 million,” he said.
“Some agencies are cancelling auctions, some just refuse to explore the technology that's available and have postponed them indefinitely.
“Others are trying to sell prior to auction, but our focus is 100% on giving buyer confidence in our platform to bid, and doing our utmost in creating competition for our sellers . We have just sold 14/14 this week, and the majority were far in excess of reserve.
“The main reason that we are having these successes is because of the teamwork that's part of our business. It’s not uncommon to have 15 staff members online for one auction, all working together in harmony.
“The scale, technology, experience and professionalism is something that we believe makes us stand out.
Ray White Canberra Chief Operating Officer Scott Jackson said the team had another four online auctions tomorrow, and five more next week.
“We have spent so long preparing for this and refining our virtual auction process, and every buyer has been able to register and bid with confidence. We hold their hand and make the process easy.”
Ray White Canberra auctioneer Alec Brown (pictured above) had set up his virtual auction stage in his garage.
The team uses Google chat so the agents are on the phone with bidders and they place bids on their behalf to the auctioneer.
Mr Brown said the public could still see the auctions online. “Our agents can still communicate with our bidders during the auction and if the internet feed drops out because our agents are on the phone to the bidders it ensures no one ever misses out.”
