A strong start to the auction year for Ray White Queensland saw more than 1000 properties go under the hammer between January and March, which is a 10.8 percent increase on the same period in 2017.

Ray White chief auctioneer Mitch Peereboom said results have been impressive across the state, from our regional and coastal markets to inner-city Brisbane events.

"We are seeing extremely strong auction numbers across the group, which has translated into some excellent clearance results,” Mr Peereboom said.

“This has been complemented by comprehensive marketing campaigns across print, digital and social demonstrating our members’ commitment to showcasing our auction properties to attract all potential buyers.

"It is more important than ever to leverage the marketing opportunities across all platforms to achieve the best price.

“Auction ensures we extract the most from the market by creating competition."

Mr Peereboom said Ray White Queensland’s regional markets are leading the way in using auctions to encourage buyer activity.

“A recent highlight out of North Queensland is the sale of 13 Sturges Street, Hermit Park marketed by Julie Mahoney of Ray White Julie Mahoney,” Mr Peereboom said.

“The confidence from buyers saw spirited bidding until the property was knocked down for $592,000.

"Ray White Queensland’s market-leading auction position is indicative of our commitment to delivering the best results for our clients."

Further south, on the Gold Coast, Ray White Mermaid Beach’s Troy Dowker is expecting a huge turnout for this Saturday’s auction of a deceased estate at 628 and 630 Pacific Parade, Tugun.

The two freehold beachfront properties will go under the hammer at 9.30am and Mr Dowker said beachfront real estate in this area is rare.

“It's been ten years since a beachfront opportunity with a standard block size, of 500sq m or less, on Pacific Parade has become available between Wagawn Street and Flat Rock,” he said.

“You can now count the limited number of opportunities on one hand that offers scope and upside to add value with redevelopment in this tightly held location.”

Meantime, on Sunday, more than 50 of the Glitter Strip’s finest homes are scheduled to go under the hammer at Ray White Queensland’s Gold Coast Auction Spectacular.

Australasia’s largest real estate group has captured the attention of a wide audience over the successful Commonwealth Games period and is preparing for a full auction house at Sheraton Grand Mirage, Main Beach.

Hundreds of people will witness millions of dollars’ worth of property, from apartments to land and right through to prestige waterfront homes, go under the hammer with registrations opening at 10am.
