Ray White Cottesloe | Mosman Park elite selling principal Jody Fewster is marketing the luxury home at 39A Irvine St, Peppermint Grove.
The four bedroom stone and wood contemporary home sits comfortably in its surroundings.
“Nestled within what is arguably the best street in one of Perth's most prestigious and iconic suburbs, this stunning home is surrounded by birdlife and allows you to well and truly immerse yourself in Mother Nature from every angle,” Ms Fewster said.
“The sophisticated and understated contemporary interiors ensure private and secure living here, along with soaring ceiling heights that bring the outer green from the established gardens into this luxurious home.
The existing house on the 903 sqm prime block was purchased and has been occupied by Caroline and Walter Kimble since September 2002.
The Kimbles knocked over the original house and completely built a new luxury home, which was designed by architect Tim Wright and finished in 2016.
The owners integrated internal and external spaces and used natural and recycled materials to create continuity and unity of the space.
The existing house had a distinctive “holiday home” feel which the owners wanted to retain and enhance when they rebuilt.
“It was our intention to retain many of the trees to maintain a feel of living in the country,” Mr Kimble said.
The materials selected were of a neutral palette, consisting of natural finishes, polished concrete, stone, as well as an extensive use of glass. Large sliding glass highlight windows have been used to disregard boundaries between inside and out.
“We are outside people, so the flow from inside to out had to be blurred. The gardens incorporate flowing water and lush tropical planting, enhancing the feeling of seclusion and calm,” Mr Kimble said.
“Innovative timber decking and polished concrete seamlessly connect the garden to the house.
“In the words of architect ‘the house should be simple and resemble open verandas; there should be minimum interference with nature and the existing site.’ We were looking for an environmentally sensitive design to ensure our new house “touches the earth lightly.”
Mr Kimble said the light inside the home was amazing and uplifting.
“The surprise and amazement on our guests' faces when they walk down the timber walkway and see the house for the first time is always a joy, he said.
“Watching the weather, birds and nature swirling around from the comfort of the home is lovely.”
The concrete floors, stone, and timber were crafted by Tim Wright, architect and his team.
The Kimbles are selling their incredible home, with everything in it, to fulfil a lifelong dream of sailing the world on their catamaran.
“We are getting a catamaran built in France and as soon as we can get it to Darwin we’re off across the Pacific Ocean,” Mr Kimble said.
“We’ll leave in April or May and head to Indonesia and the Christmas Islands, to South Africa, the Caribbean and through the Panama canal to French Polynesia.
“We have no time plan, we have all the time in the world. It’s been a lifelong dream,” he said.
The expressions of interest campaign closing on December 7 (unless sold prior).
