IT MIGHT be a long weekend in New South Wales and Victoria but if last month’s activity is any indication then buyers won’t be taking any time off this Saturday.

Throughout May buyer interest continued to stay steady for Australasia’s largest real estate group proving there is no better time to sell than the present with listings down and the scales tipped towards sellers.

Not only this, but it’s also the first weekend for eased restrictions in Victoria with the state government now upping the maximum crowd number from 10 to 20.

Celebrating a small return to normalcy, Ray White Carnegie Partner Josh Hommelhoff and Sales Consultant Tom Grieve are selling 66 Neville St, Carnegie on-site this weekend. The agents have seen more than 100 groups through the home which has a price guide of $1.05 million to $1.150 million.

“We’re getting a lot of young professional couples with small kids looking at the three bedroom home, they are being drawn in by the great location and easy access to local amenities,” Mr Hommelhoff said.

In Melbourne's south eastern suburbs, the three bedroom home at 20 Moona St, Burwood East is attracting both local and interstate attention ahead of the auction on Saturday.

Ray White Mount Waverley Area Manager Jay Warnak said the land, location and house tick all the boxes for eager buyers.

“Auctions are the best way to get a premium price on your property and with many converting to private sales, this auction will be a good example of how well the sales method works even in these times,” Mr Warnak said.

“We’ve had many interested parties, they’re mainly affluent first home buyers wanting to live in the area specifically and build a family home here in the future.

“We are even getting interstate interest from a buyer wanting to move back into the Melbourne market.”

West of Melbourne, Ray White Lara Sales Consultant Matthew Wade-Taylor is selling 5 Sonia Court, Lara under the hammer this weekend saying he is expecting four genuine buyers to register for the auction.

“We have had 16 groups through in three weeks but all have been interested and genuine buyers,” Mr Wade-Taylor said.

“There has been local and Melbourne based first home buyer interest and it’s the perfect home for that segment of the market.”

The three bedroom house has a price guide of $530,000 to $570,000.

In New South Wales, the two bedroom unit at 6/27 Walton Crescent, Abbotsford has attracted interest from buyers all over Sydney.

Ray White Drummoyne Agent Fiona Hellams said she’s had more than 40 groups through the property which is being sold by a long term investor.

“I am mostly seeing couples coming through because it’s a two bedroom. They like the location, quite close to the water and the area is of better value for this type of property - especially during these times,” Ms Hellams said.

Ray White Frenchs Forest Principal Megan MacKay said she has had 30 private inspections on the four bedroom house at 3 Sir Thomas Mitchell Drive in Davidson which has a price guide of $1.2 million.

“We’ve been doing private inspections and on top of the ones we have already done throughout the campaign we have four more scheduled during the week from qualified buyers,” Ms McKay said.

“We’re getting people upgrading from units and people looking for their first family home as it’s a great two level property in Davidson so it represents an excellent opportunity for buyers.”

Going under the hammer in Brisbane this weekend through Ray White Albion Principal David Treloar is the three bedroom home at 12 Argyle St, Red Hill.

Mr Treloar said the original condition Queenslander has been popular with first home buyers and should attract up to four bidders.

“The house has been well inspected, we have one buyer who is an Australian expat looking to invest in the market and then a lot of first home buyers and people upgrading from units,” Mr Treloar said.

“The majority of feedback from the market has been that the home needs a little bit of work but this way they can still buy a good block of land close to the city in a great Brisbane suburb.”

In Ipswich this weekend this four bedroom home at 8 Littleford Circuit, Bundamba is selling through Ray White Cleveland Sales Agent Vern Jensen.

Mr Jensen said he’s quietly confident the affordable location and well finished features will draw in multiple bidders.

“With the easing of restrictions on open homes we had a number of groups inspect the property last weekend and are expecting more during the week,” Mr Jensen said.

“Ultimately it suits younger families because of the space, the suburb and the fact that nothing needs to be done.”

The Adelaide offices have embraced online auction technology but with eased restrictions Ray White Glenelg is heading into their first post pandemic onsite auction this Saturday.

Marketed through Ray White Glenelg Principal Adam Keane, the four bedroom home at 11 Cummins St in the premium suburb of Novar Gardens has caught the eye of experienced homeowners.

“There will be some genuine bidder interest on this one from second and third home buyers, most are looking to knock it over and build their dream home,” Mr Keane said.

“They are after the location and good block of land. Novar Gardens is a tightly held suburb and properties like this don’t come up very often.”
