The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and Future Classic announce a 2015 summer collaboration – FCxMCA.
The Ray White Group is proud to support the MCA and its initiatives.
“My wife, Rosemary, and I have had a keen interest in the arts for many years. We made the decision as a family to financially contribute to MCA initiatives and it’s a partnership that our family holds very dear,” said Mr Brian White, chairman of the Ray White Group.
Taking cues from similar international collaborations such as New York’s Museum of Modern Art PS1 Warm Up party, FCxMCA is a brand new event series scheduled over three summer Sundays with the most exciting international and local electronic talent performing on the MCA’s iconic Sculpture Terrace.
FCxMCA is a collaboration between Future Classic and the MCA Young Ambassador Programme, whose members have access to an exclusively curated schedule of art and cultural events, costing $42 a month; a fee that provides crucial funding for the MCA.
Dan White, fourth generation family member, is a Young Ambassador of the MCA. He and his wife, Samantha, have been instrumental in their work with the museum.
“I’m extremely proud to be involved with the MCA. It’s really performing on an international stage as one of the best arts institutions in the world,” Dan White said.
Launched on Sunday, 30 November 2014 to a packed audience of MCA Young Ambassadors, FCxMCA kicked off with performances from George Maple, Panama and Future Classic DJ’s.
The future events will see international acts Cashmere Cat (Norway), Redinho (UK) and Cyril Hahn (Switzerland) captivate audiences through summer.
Of the collaboration, Nathan McLay of Future Classic says, “My partner Jay and I have enjoyed visits to documenta in Germany, the Venice Biennale and many contemporary galleries around the world on our travels. That travel and intersection of contemporary art and music opened our eyes to collaborations such as the MoMa PS1 Warm Up series in New York and Sonar Festival in Barcelona, whose day venue is the Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona (MACBA). It is these events that inspired the FCxMCA collaboration.”
