Ray White Benalla have secured Australian entrepreneur and founder of Wizard Home Loans Mark Bouris to speak at their upcoming property night.
In addition to Mr Bouris, Ray White Rural Victoria director Jason Hellyer and ex-AFL player Anthony Stevens, who joined the Rural Victorian network in 2021 will also be present to provide insight into the activity within the farmland property sector surrounding Benalla and central north-east Victoria.
The office has also invited speakers in the mortgage broking, insurance and tax spaces along with game changing property management technology company, Ailo.
The information night will be open to the whole community and is aimed at those interested in the Benalla property market. It will kick off at 6pm on September 1 at the Benalla Glasshouse.

According to PriceFinder, Benalla’s median has grown 24.3 per cent over the last 12 months and continues to remain strong at 15 per cent this year. Ray White Benalla principal Peter Symes (pictured above) said despite strong median growth numbers, housing affordability remains good.
“Benalla’s median house price is sitting at $435,000. This is significantly less than Melbourne’s median which sits just above $1 million,” he said.
“It’s the gateway for north-east Victoria and has an abundance of employment opportunities. Within an hour, you can access wide portions of Victoria so it’s a great destination for people.”
There has been significant investment into various commercial enterprises in and around Benalla. Ray White Rural Victoria director Jason Hellyer said this includes companies involved in major road and rail infrastructure build programs and agriculture.
“The agricultural sector has had several years of strong cattle and commodity (crop) pricing. Strength in the sector has seen strong investment by large farming families and corporates seeking further scale in the agricultural sector,” he said.

Fellow Ray White Benalla principal Ricky Symes (pictured above) said the event had been in the works for the past three years and the initial concept came about from their desire to connect with their community.
“We are trying to engage every segment of the market from mum and dad investors, first home buyers, upsizers, downsizers and so on,” he said.
“We want to help keep our local community up to date, informed and give them resources that the metro areas usually get more access to. We hope to help our community build their wealth through property.”
While average days on market have gone up recently, Peter Symes said it represents a balancing of the market and prices are staying firm.
“We’re lucky we have a vibrant market but it’s not as chaotic as it was. We aren’t seeing a property listed one day and sold the next but there are still strong results coming in,” he said.
“We’re also getting a good mix of buyers in our area. Our area is lucky that we don’t rely too heavily on one type of buyer.
“It’s mainly locals and people moving from outer areas but Melbourne buyers represent a good portion of our buyers. Interest is also coming from interstate and even overseas in New Zealand.
“It’s leading into a really positive spring, we’re still transacting and listing a lot but there’s also value in Benalla. If you look at the median house price against our neighbours’, the value is there.”
