We ask Ray White Bundoora Directors Andrew Mizzi and Russell Adams how they are helping their office through lockdown in Melbourne.

What kinds of things are you doing to keep your agents engaged?

We have found a few ways to keep the staff engaged is to have multiple Zoom meetings and check-ins.

Our teams have also been split up into four groups, each headed by a Director in the firm, who checks in daily.

Our sales meetings have evolved into random topics focusing on things other than real estate, for example: what is your passion?

We also have virtual group lunch catch up sessions where the office provides lunch for all of the families.

Why do you think this is important?

Ultimately the importance is to keep the team close and occupied and to show a level of care to individuals.

How have your agents been spending their time e.g. securing listings, setting up auctions for post-lockdown or getting on top of the little things?

The staff are currently securing their position by making calls, structuring their auction campaigns, locking in our auctioneers and preparing for their appointments.

We have suggested they also take some downtime to do whatever assists with their mental health. Some of the suggestions have been to do some general tidying up, cleaning the garage or whatever helps.

What is the outlook for your office post-lockdown?

We are expecting our post auction activities to be consistent with what we have been doing during lockdown. We have already booked appointments and inspections and we will be concentrating on community involvement to see how we can be of assistance even more than we are now.
