(The seller's dog Maxy also tuned in all the way from Milan, Italy.)

LAST night, the Ray White Craigieburn team were able to bring the auction action straight to a seller currently living almost 16,000km away in Milan, Italy.

The online auction of 31 Clydesdale Rd, Airport West kicked off with a starting bid of $850,000 and by the end Craigieburn Auctioneer Trish Orrico brought down the hammer at $990,000.

Sold through Ray White Craigieburn Principal Andrew Bellino, the sale of the four bedroom home was handled by the owner’s two daughters - one living locally and the other in Milan.

“The daughter living overseas was excited about the online auction, she watched it from the comfort of her home with her dog Maxie,” Mr Bellino said.

“The woman who owns the house was also watching from her other daughter’s home in Melbourne.

“I spoke to them afterwards and they were all ecstatic about the result.”

With five registered bidders, the online auction brought together buyers from across Melbourne all vying to be the new owners of the Airport West home. Mr Bellino said much of the interest he received was from buyers wanting to develop the site.

“The property launched on May 8 and we ended up bringing the auction forward due to high interest levels,” he said.

“The first inspections were on the following Monday and the very first buyer I took through was the person who bought it. They are a developer from Glenroy planning to build units on the block.”

(Ray White Victoria | Tasmania Chief Auctioneer Matthew Condon calling the online auction the St Albans auction.) At the Ray White Group headquarters in Melbourne, Victoria | Tasmania Chief Auctioneer Matthew Condon and Corporate Auctioneer Jeremy Tyrrell were busy getting more deals across the line.

The two bedroom home at 3/29 Pennell Ave, St Albans, sold through Ray White Taylors Lakes Principal Peter Travlos, went under the hammer for $402,500 with 12 registered bidders.

While Ray White Ferntree Gully Sales Consultant Matthew George sold 6 Philip Rd, Knoxfield for $715,000 with 14 registered bidders under Mr Tyrrell's hammer.

Mr Condon said the Ray White Victoria offices ended the night selling more than $2 million worth of stock through online auctions and achieving a 75 per cent clearance rate.

“Two of the auctions had more than 10 registered bidders so with the current restrictions in place, we wouldn’t be able to hold onsite auctions and that was one reason for going online,” Mr Condon said.

“Both had big crowds and the online method allowed neighbours to jump on, it also allowed other buyers to see what’s happening in the marketplace.

“Having them all online created a great atmosphere and most importantly the clients were extremely happy.”
