AUSTRALIA’S mass-scale internal migration isn’t quite over yet.
Moving to smaller capital cities and regional areas still seems to be a theme for many Australians, with 15 per cent of all of last week’s Ray White auction buyers - bar Melbourne and Sydney - coming from interstate.
On the weekend, Ray White Seven Hills agent Nick Menzies sold 8 Ellis Place, Kings Langley for $1.261 million for a seller moving to Canberra to be near family. Meanwhile, the owners of 1A Darvall Court, Cheltenham are making a move to Queensland after their home sold for $60,000 above reserve at $1.06 million through Ray White Cheltenham’s Kevin Chokshi.
Not only was the auction of 216 Glebe Point Rd, Glebe the top Ray White sale last Saturday, it was also sold by someone decamping to Adelaide full-time. Ray White Erskineville | Alexandria | Glebe | Surry Hills director Matthew Carvalho and agent Bianca Field sold the inner-west property for $6.225 million at a competitive auction.
Moving on to this week, the Ray White Group has 689 auctions scheduled across the country, up 72 per cent on last year, with 364 auctions on Saturday alone.
In Sydney, the group has 184 auctions scheduled, finally overtaking Melbourne for the first time this year where there are another 165 Ray White auctions booked. Ray White Brisbane is hot on the heels of the larger capital cities with 106 scheduled auctions, while Ray White Adelaide has 51 auctions locked in.
