FIVE picturesque Blue Mountains properties will go to auction under the one roof this Sunday, at Ray White Blackheath’s annual spring auction event.

The exclusive event will be held at Medlow Bath’s Hydro Majestic Hotel ballroom, commencing at midday with bidders encouraged to arrive by 11.30am.

Auctioneer Jason Keen will be calling the sale of the properties, which are all located in the magnificent mountainous region between Katoomba and Blackheath.

"Our spectacular annual auction, held at the iconic Hydro Majestic Hotel, is an excellent opportunity to showcase the area’s properties,” Ray White Blackheath principal Alan Gregory said.

“We will be expecting over 100 people to attend with about 10 to 20 registered bidders. Last year we had around 150 people attend.”

Held by the same family for almost 50 years, a 1940s mountain lodge (above) designed by modernist architect HP Oser is attracting a lot of attention.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom acreage home at 13 Prince Edward St, Blackheath has original timber flooring and a striking open fireplace.

The kitchen has been updated, while glass doors open out to a wide patio.

“A small acreage so close to Blackheath Village is exceptionally rare,” Ray White Blackheath’s Katrina Allport said.

“This property is of historical architectural significance as it was built by modernist architect HP Oser.”

It’s only minutes from the village, train station and local school, and less than a two hour drive from Sydney’s CBD.

Another of Ms Allport’s properties is also sure to draw interest on Sunday when it goes under the hammer.

The charming circa 1910 ‘Merilba’ (above) at 58-60 Cleopatra St, Blackheath features wide verandas, cast iron fireplaces, timber detailing, and high ceilings with ornate plaster work.

Also included in the listing but on a separate title is Toad Hall, which is a studio surrounded by beautiful established gardens.

“Homes of this quality and era, especially on two titles, are quite rare and hard to secure in our area,” Ms Allport said.

“Merilba embraces the true essence of a classic 1900s mountain home in a premium location.”

A grand weatherboard and sandstone residence (above) dating back to 1914 is being marketed by Ray White Blackheath’s Sarah Thompson ahead of Sunday’s event.

The deceased estate at 41 Camp St, Katoomba is essentially a two-bedroom home, with a self-contained apartment plus laundry on the lower level.

“It’s a turn of the century home on what was formerly a show garden,” Ms Thompson said.

The price guide for the 1,952sq m property is $700,000 to $770,000.

It’s hard to find fault with this stylish mountain escape (above) overlooking the fairways of Blackheath Golf Club at 4 Jubilee Ave.

Renovated by a renowned local builder, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom home has retractable floor-to-ceiling glass doors and large windows linking the mature gardens and sandstone patio with the interior.

Ray White Blackheath’s Katrina Allport is also managing this auction listing.

“This luxurious home really is the ultimate lifestyle property and its magnificent gardens are at their optimum during spring time,” she said.

With a price guide of $450,000 to $500,000, secure a 5.8ha parcel of bushland (above) bordered by national park at 195 Evans Lookout Rd, Blackheath.

“It’s a superb bush block offering the chance to build a cool getaway, bolthole home or your forever prestige house in a sought after location close to the spectacular Evans Lookout,” Ray White Blackheath principal Alan Gregory said.

It offers impressive bushland views, an abundance of native plant life, and access to town water, electricity, phone lines and bus services.
