Ray White Cottesloe | Mosman Park owner and marketing agent Jody Fewster said the four bedroom home was a celebration of its grand history from the 1930s, yet stylish and functional with its modern design.
“This bungalow charm with tuck-pointed highlights, wide, sweeping verandas and sash windows known as Copley on View was purchased by its current owners in 2005 and shortly after, underwent a full renovation and rear- three level extension addition under the design-expertise of the architect Lendis Golic,” Ms Fewster said.
“The result is an awe-inspiring, breathtaking residence that has been intentionally designed for effortless entertaining, supreme comfort, relaxed and easy living.”
“With its enviable and iconic location between the river and the sea, this property provides a relaxed community lifestyle.”
Large-scale celebrations, fundraising soirees, sundowners and charity dinners are regularly held in the various rooms of this multi-faceted home.
Home owner Hilda Shroy said the family had lived in the house for the last seven and half years after its immense renovation and the house has played host to many charity fundraisers, especially for the Girls from Oz and the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Mrs Shroy said she had been a long supporter of the Girls from Oz, which helps improve education and employment outcomes for students in remote Australia, particularly Aboriginal girls and young women.
The fundraisers support their programs which uses a tried and tested performing arts engagement model developed over 30 years by the Australian School of Performing Arts, to engage and re-engage females living in some of the most at-risk communities in Australia.
“My home has been a giving home with many fundraisers for breast cancer research and the Girls from Oz who I got involved with through the Australian Girls Choir,” Mrs Shroy said.
“Everyone who comes here says the vibe is different from the minute they come through the door.
“If a girlfriend ever needed a place to stay, they were always welcome. I cannot help it, it’s in my Croatian blood. Community and family is very important to me.
“At Halloween I had at least 550 children come by for treats, and we’d have bobbing apples and games while I dress up as Morticia Addams. You should see the place at Christmas - my daughter even told me to tone it down!”
Mrs Shroy’s style and acute attention-to-detail which has been applied to every corner of this bespoke property, from the unique, vivid pink frangipani trees, Vibernum Hedges, granite paving outside, the driveway's Herringbone cobblestones, art deco inspired chandeliers, ceiling-to-floor Italian marble in all wet areas, and soft, mink-hued silk drapes throughout.
“There nothing better than sitting on the verandah with a G&T and watching the sun go down.” Mrs Shroy said, who was planning a move to Fremantle next to be closer to family. The property goes to auction on December 8 on-site at 12noon.
