It’s been a dream come true for former Coolum real estate agents Steven and Lyndall Buth.

They moved away from the pressure of their successful real estate business, and bought a place in the middle of Victorian wine country, ready to kick back.

However far from taking it too easy the couple built a superb home, and even more surprising, now run a popular little restaurant right there on their 8ha Heathcote property.

“We love what we do,” says Mr Buth about their new lives. They grow their own produce, only open Heathcote Harvest on the weekends (they are so full they regularly turn people away at the door) and enjoy having what they describe as a “dinner party every weekend.”

The home is both graceful and flawless, and has tricked more than a few visitors who believed it was an original home.

“But it’s actually a Harkaway Home. Brand new,” says Ms Buth.

“I’ve lived in Queenslanders and older homes before and they have gaps and mice get in whereas ours is a brand new home with the luxury of three metre ceilings and open fireplaces.”

But they still managed to add personal touches – such as the timber floors made from floorboards of the old Geelong woolshed.

The Buths are ready for more adventure, and are planning a move to Italy, leaving their Victorian wine country dream home for vines of a different colour.

The remarkable property is being sold by Ray White Romsey agent Debra Lawry, who is happy to arrange inspections by appointment – and promises a little something warm and yummy from the Harvest kitchen to make the 1.5hr trip from Melbourne even more worth it. Watch the fabulous video here
