Owners of real estate in Sydney - particularly in the Campbelltown area - may welcome the start of construction to a new clinical building for the Campbelltown hospital.
The clinic is part of a $139-million development to the site, with a 24-hour helipad opened, in addition to a new car park with 235 new spaces.
New South Wales premier Barry O'Farrell explained that this redevelopment of the site is a significant advancement in the health services of south-western Sydney.
He said: "It is another example of the NSW government's commitment to investing in infrastructure to provide more frontline health services.
"This is one of the state's fastest-growing regions and we are ensuring local families have access to a world-class hospital."
The clinical building will consist of a brand new inpatient ward, new allied health services, pathology, ambulatory and outpatient services. A 24-hour helipad will benefit emergency patients as the facility will host an aero-medical helicopter. With the addition of the 235 car spaces, the hospital will have a total of 1,225 places to park.
Health minister Jillian Skinner explained that every development to the hospital is done so with the aim of benefiting families and patients.
