A luxurious listing in Bardon is the first residential home to launch its News Corp marketing campaign with a full wrap-around advert in the Courier Mail.
“This is the first individual residential property wrap done in News Corps history,” Joel Hudson, manager of real estate for Brisbane for News Corp said.
On the market through Matt Lancashire of Ray White New Farm, the marketing campaign launches this Saturday.
“I’m such an advocate for print marketing in newspapers. I measure my buyer enquiry and it’s those buyers that search the paper and then do additional research online that are really in the market. They’re what we call “qualified” buyers - they’re ready, they’re savvy and they’re looking in the Courier Mail,” Mr Lancashire said.
The current owner of the property, Mike Sweep, has made major improvements to the property over the 10 years he and his family have lived in the home.
“We put in an enormous amount of work to bring the property up to this level. It is 100 per cent different to when we purchased it 10 years ago,” Mr Sweep explains.
“We created a home to complement the lifestyle we like to lead - it’s an entertainers home. We were heavily involved in the design and were very particular about the quality of what went into the renovations.
“We increased the size of the home significantly, adding ensuites to all of the bedrooms and a walk-in cold room to the preparation section of the kitchen - an addition to our Miele integrated fridge and freezer.
“The thing I will miss the most is the theatre room - it’s like a gold class cinema. I often joke with my wife of an evening, and ask if I can take her to the pictures. It really feels like you’re at the movies and it’s a lovely escape at the end of the day,” Mr Sweep said.
The property at 12 Golden Orchid Close, Bardon is in a quieter part of Brisbane and offers arguably the best view in Brisbane.
“I’d love to be able to take the view with us. Our view of the city is framed by trees and sky. It’s a narrow view of the city but you still see all the big icons and at night time, it looks like a picture. In my opinion it’s the best view in Brisbane.”
When Matt Lancashire presented the concept of the marketing campaign to Mr Sweep, he was only too happy to agree.
“I’ve sold 11 properties in our lifetime and I’ve never seen anyone as proactive as Matt.
“When he presented the idea to me, I told him I was governed by his recommendations.
“This house is in a quiet pocket and I knew if we’re going to market, we need to do it properly. It’s a fantastic idea and I’m excited to see the result on Saturday,” Mr Sweep concludes.
