WHEN Paul Taylor and his partner Stephanie invited friends to their engagement party at their beautiful home at 56 Hulbert Street in Hove, little did the arriving guests know they were attending the couple’s wedding.

“We absolutely love this house and it’s an entertainer’s delight so we thought, if we love it so much, why not just get married here? So, we did,” Mr Taylor said.

“It’s just glorious here, especially in the summer when you can open the bi-fold doors on all levels and let the warm sea breeze flow through.

“On the odd occasion, we open the bi-fold doors in our bedroom overnight and fall to sleep to the sound of the ocean.

“We’ve lived here for four years now and we still can’t get over how good the area is. We’re directly opposite Wattle Park and are lucky enough to have commanding views of the ocean.

“The park is fantastic with events happening throughout the year, and because we’re such a close-knit community, we all get together there around Christmas time.

“We'd been looking extensively four years ago for a property and just fell in love with this one. We loved the open-plan layout, the fantastic fixtures and fittings, and being slightly set-back from the foreshore means you don’t get any gusty winds.

“We’ve had many major functions here. Aside from our wedding, we’ve also hosted a 21st birthday party and had 25 people for Christmas dinner one year. The house lends itself to being easily rearranged for events.

“We’re really going to miss living here. Being close to the beach, we regularly kayaked on the calms waters and spent time catching squid and whiting.

“But the time has come for us to downsize, and that means another family can build their happy memories here, just like we have.”

The property is being marketed and sold by Ray White Unley Director Josh Gillespie and Sales Partner Robbie Smith, with a price guide of $1,600,000-$1,700,000.

“This home sports spectacular ocean and park views, is only a few steps away from the golden sands of Hove beach, and has been designed with an emphasis on luxury family living,” Mr Gillespie said.

“The property was designed by renowned architect Alberto D'Andrea, with the stunning family home boasting generous proportions, combined with the highest level of quality throughout.

“High ceilings, great natural light, and a neutral colour palette are just the beginning of an outstandingly built residence.

“The spacious open-plan living and dining area flows to the balcony that overlooks the sea, the perfect place to have a glass of wine while enjoying a sunset.

“The kitchen offers ample storage and cupboard space, complete with quality stainless steel appliances, including Smeg six burner gas stove, and dishwasher.”

Mr Smith said the most picturesque views were framed by commercial grade floor-to-ceiling windows, while the bathroom, complete with floor-to-ceiling tiles, was adjacent to the large laundry with direct outdoor access.

“Upstairs provides comfortable accommodation for the whole family, comprising of three sizeable bedrooms, and a private study with opaque glass sliding door, that could also be utilised as a nursery,” Mr Smith said.

“The showstopper of the home, however, is found in the expansive and luxurious master suite, with stunning ocean views, balcony, walk-in robe, and a cleverly designed contemporary ensuite, featuring a double shower, bath and glass wall.

“Another two bedrooms fitted with plush carpet and built-in robes are serviced by the main bathroom, while large white gloss floor-to-ceiling cupboards provide extensive storage options on the upper level.

“This home is going to make a family extraordinarily happy. One not to be missed.”
