THE Ray White Group is expecting to take 148 properties to auction across the country this Saturday, which is a huge jump on last Saturday’s scheduled volume of just 17 and last week’s total of 127.

Queensland and Victoria are hosting the greatest number of auctions on February 2 at 46 each, followed by New South Wales (40), South Australia (10) and the ACT (3).

A deceased estate in Sydney’s Castle Hill is expected to draw a large crowd when it goes to auction at 10am (AEDT), through Ray White Castle Hill’s Paul Conti.

The 1960s house on a 968sq m parcel of land at 4 Tuckwell Rd, Castle Hill is within walking distance to the upcoming Castle Hill Rail Station, city buses, local schools, and Castle Towers’ cafe and retail precinct.

“It’s either a renovate or rebuild, and we’re under instructions to sell the property,” Mr Conti said.

“It’s attracted investors, first home buyers and people trying to get a leg into Castle Hill. There’s been lots of interest and I think it’ll be a corker.”

To Queensland where the Ray White GC South Network is preparing for their Summer Spectacular auction event kicking off at 9am (AEST) at Currumbin RSL.

Twenty-four properties were scheduled to go under the hammer, with three selling prior and one under contract.

“Comparing to our private treaty stock; enquiry, inspection and offer numbers have been very good,” Ray White GC South Network’s Brendan Gibb said.

“Demand levels in the marketplace have been low for the last six months, but this event always draws a huge crowd and it has been positive to see the response we have been getting so far.”

The Ray White GC South Network runs in-room auctions monthly, however every January they hold their auction event on a much larger scale to capitalise on the fact that it’s the highest turnover month for the local market, when the market swells with tourist numbers.

“We have representatives from Loan Market as well as Property Management BDMs to be able to offer advice/answer questions for all attendees,” Mr Gibb said.

“In terms of individual properties; there are a few good ones which we expect to go well, particularly 35 Oakland Parade, Banora Point and 23 Ballow Street, Coolangatta (above).”

Mr Gibb said he was expecting a great turnout, as there’s a range of properties to suit a variety of buyer.

“It would take you six Saturdays to fit in this many on-site auctions, so if you have any interest in seeing what the current market is doing this is your opportunity,” he said.

Down in Melbourne, Ray White Ferntree Gully’s Matt Morris is taking a large four-bedroom home in a popular family location to auction at midday.

The brick home on a 720sq m parcel of land at 4 Reeve Place, Rowville (above) hasn’t been lived in since it was recently renovated.

“Whoever’s moving in will be living in what feels like a brand new home,” Mr Morris said.

“We’ve had a mix of buyers though including first home buyers, those looking to upgrade and buyers who sold last year and are now starting to look.”

The family home is close to local transport, Stud Park Shopping, Eildon Park, Park Ridge Primary, Rowville Primary, and Rowville Secondary.

There’s an indicative price guide on 4 Reeve Place, Rowville of $700,000 to $770,000.

Meantime, just 45 minutes outside of Melbourne is the 11am auction of a five bedroom lifestyle purchase at 32 Moorhen Drive, Lara.

Ray White Lara & Corio’s Matthew Wade-Taylor said the property’s outdoor entertaining area (above) was a major attraction for house hunters.

“It has an outdoor area that’s a real winner, as well as five bedrooms and multiple shared living spaces,” Mr Wade-Taylor said.

“It’s just a really good family home in a stunning location. There’s a cafe at the end of the street with Scott’s pizza night, as well as parks and walking tracks.”

Mr Wade-Taylor has attached a price guide of $710,000 to $740,000.
