THE ‘new normal’ of live online auctions continued to pick up pace this morning as two out of three properties sold under the hammer in Brisbane.

17 Osanna Street (above) in Daisy Hill sold for $506,000 after 16 bids and 80/204 Alice Street (below) in Brisbane City sold for $415,000.

Ray White Queensland Chief Auctioneer Mitch Peereboom said bidders and buyers were really starting to enjoy the online auction facility.

“We’re so proud of our members for adapting so quickly and continuing to create competition through our auctions,” Mr Peereboom said.

“This is a truly exciting and creative solution that’s being embraced by our innovative agents and auctioneers across our whole network.

“You could really feel this morning that bidders were more comfortable and relaxed and the bids began flowing from the very off.”

Mr Peereboom (above) said today was particularly interesting because there were a large number of registered bidders across the three auctions that took place.

“We had 19 registered bidders across the three properties. To average over six per property is quite staggering, given the doom and gloom predictions out there,” he said.

“That means 17 bidders missed out on purchases and that tells us that there’s a strong pool of buyers out there who are finance-ready and looking to buy right now.”
