Under the hammer this Saturday
ROLL your sleeves up and enjoy the property buffet available on raywhite.com this Saturday.
The leading property group, Ray White, has something for every taste and budget on offer from a delectable turn of the century trophy home in Brisbane with a famed twin peaked roof line to a tasty unit in Sydney that is whetting appetites in and around Epping.
Ray White New Farm marketing agents Matt Lancashire and Christine Rudolph are taking the drool-worthy home at 9 Craven St, Clayfield known as White Gables to auction this Saturday at 3pm. White Gables, a much-admired Brisbane residence, is on the market after being held by only three separate families since its creation in the early 1900s. The beautiful house was commissioned by wealthy timber merchant George Brown who had the means to build a grand timber Queenslander, typical of the era.
Instead, Mr Brown chose to construct the statement wedding gift for his daughter out of magnificent red brick with an extensive use of the finest timbers throughout the interior.
Kate and John Naughton purchased 9 Craven St, Clayfield 15 years ago from a prominent local resident who had lived on the property until he was 102. The Naughtons have undertaken a spectacular sensitive restoration of the home, transforming it into an elegant double-storey six-bedroom house, with self-contained guest quarters, a swimming pool and championship-size tennis court. Ms Naughton described White Gables as a “fabulous family home”. The agents say they have had strong interest in the home ahead of its auction.
In Melbourne, the REIV is expecting about 280 auctions in 181 suburbs this week. The top auction locations this week are Craigieburn (10) and Glen Waverley (7), followed by Mount Waverley and Reservoir with six auctions in each.
There’s been plenty of interest from first home buyers in the two bedroom and two bathroom unit at 106/93 Truganini Road, Carnegie, according to marketing agent Alan Tran of Ray White Carnegie.“This is exactly what all first home buyers are looking for. It’s a near new unit with great finishes and first home buyers will receive 100 per cent exception on stamp duty up to $600,000 and with a price guide of $500,000 to $550,000 this is an ideal first home,” Mr Tran said.
“I’m expecting at least three registered bidders, given it is in such a great location.”
Ray White Carnegie agent and auctioneer Tom Grieve will kick off the auction on site at 11am this Saturday.
Marketing agent Kevin Wong of Ray White Epping (above) is excited to see what the outcome of the auction of B22/23 Ray Road, Epping will be like given the level of interest in the campaign.
“This property has had so much interest from mostly people who already live in the complex. I expect it will be bought by an owner occupier not an investor. These units are very tightly held and my vendor has owned it since buying off the plan seven years ago,” Mr Wong said.
“There’s definitely less people through open homes right now as buyers hold off in the current market. I have a background in tax accounting, so I know every market is cyclical. But in any market there will always be sellers and buyers as people need to move house for all sorts of reasons. I expect it will be a good day.”
Ray White Buderim marketing agent Mitch Rowe has high hopes that the stunning three bedroom home at 2 Greenvale Court, Buderim will sell on site under Brett Graham’s hammer on Saturday at 11am.
“It’s a two speed market right now but for any first property for that is well presented in the price bracket of $500,000 to $700,000 than these are still selling. But a two bedroom units that is on the market with hundreds of other two bedrooms units will struggle,” Mr Rowe said.
“In first two weeks of the campaign for 2 Greenvale Court, Buderim we had 37 inspections from potential buyers. That’s pretty normal for Buderim to get at least 8-10 buyers through per week at the open homes with extra private inspections … good interest,” Mr Rowe said.
“We have had the most interest from locals.”
In Adelaide, 24 King St, Prospect will go to auction at 3:30pm on Saturday through Ray White City Edge marketing agent Sharyn Mitten. This renovated red brick bungalow offers spacious family accommodation with character features flowing through a generous open plan design. The house has extensive carporting and shedding which has been attractive to tradies while the large 703sq m allotment allows plenty of space for the growing family.
