Kwinana’s Trent MacGregor named Rookie of the Year
Ray White Kwinana’s Trent MacGregor was named the 2014 Rookie of the Year by the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) after achieving 45 sales in his first year as a real estate agent.
“Being the REIWA Rookie of the Year was a goal I set myself when I decided to join the real estate industry. I got stuck in straight away and it paid off!” Trent said.
“You only get one shot at this award in your entire career and it’s a great honour to win.”
The REIWA Rookie of the Year is awarded in the first year of real estate to the agent who sells the most properties.
“Selling 45 properties in my first year feels really good. To think I can achieve so much in such an early stage of my career gives me a lot of confidence for the future,” Trent said.
“Having the Rookie of the Year title for the next 12 months will be really beneficial in building my career. It’ll no doubt help show my credibility as an agent.”
For Trent, one of the most rewarding things was to come in ahead of agents in the high-end real estate markets.
“The average house price in Kwinana is at the lower end of the market. I remember thinking the high-end Perth suburbs would always outperform areas such as Kwinana. I’m really proud to achieve this for my community and prove that small town real estate can be just as successful as the big smoke.”
Joining Ray White Kwinana, Trent says he was nervous at the prospect of being a real estate agent.
“I wasn’t sure real estate was for me and to be honest it was scary to think that I wouldn’t make a wage if I didn’t sell properties.
“I was lucky to join Ray White Kwinana – it’s a great office.
“My principal, Stuart Jones, wants to see his team do well; he’s really motivating and always positive. My wife, Bianca, has also been a huge support,”
“Being part of a strong network such as Ray White, having a great principal, a supportive family and the personal drive, you can be successful in what is a really competitive industry,” Trent concludes.
