Real estate gold at Auction Spectacular
WITH the eyes of the world on the 2018 Commonwealth Games host city, more than 50 of the Gold Coast’s finest homes are going under the hammer at Ray White Queensland’s Gold Coast Auction Spectacular.
Australasia’s largest real estate group has captured the attention of a wide audience over the successful Commonwealth Games period and is preparing for a full auction house at Sheraton Grand Mirage, Main Beach on Sunday, April 22.
Hundreds of people will witness millions of dollars’ worth of property, from apartments to land and right through to prestige waterfront homes, go under the hammer with registrations opening at 10am.
Ray White Queensland chief auctioneer Mitch Peereboom said the event was timed to maximise exposure of the properties.
“As a group, our Ray White offices on the Gold Coast saw a real opportunity to capture the market’s attention during the Commonwealth Games and capitalise on the interest of buyers from all over the world,” he said.
“An auction event of this size allows us to showcase so many different types of properties from all over the Gold Coast to potential buyers.”
Mr Peereboom said Gold Coast Auction Spectacular will provide a true indication of the current market.
“The response from buyers has been excellent and we expect that to translate to an exciting auction event,” he said.
“Some properties have already sold prior to auction.”
Of the more than 50 homes listed for sale, a huge waterfront property at 15 Queen Anne Court, Sovereign Islands (above) is drawing plenty of attention.
Ray White Sovereign Islands principal Ali Mian said the prestige listing represents great value.
“It’s prime land, north-facing with good views, a pontoon suitable for a large boat, and a beautiful house in a quiet position so there’s a lot going for it,” he said.
“Interest has come from both interstate and local buyers.”
The three-level house includes two master bedrooms, an impressive sports bar and media room, great indoor/outdoor entertaining and a lift.
Both are also scheduled to go under the hammer at next Sunday’s Gold Coast Auction Spectacular.
“Buyers will have a wide choice of properties,” Mr Mian said.
“It’s a great variety for buyers wanting everything from a mansion with bridge-free boat access to an entry-level investment.”
A brand-new home in one of Palm Beach’s most desirable locations is also a feature on the order of sale.
The resort-style residence at 112 Cypress Tce (above) offers the most advanced technology in the form of a Control4 home automation system.
Ray White Robina’s Shaun Darcy said he had 33 groups inspect the property during the first weekend of the marketing campaign.
“It has proven to be one of the most popular homes we’ve listed,” Mr Darcy said.
“It’s a new breed of home because the technology is so advanced, and it’s also one of the best-located homes we have presented.”
Local families looking to upgrade have shown the most interest in the five-bedroom, four-bathroom residence.
Based on the market’s reaction, Mr Darcy is expecting an extremely competitive auction.
“We have our January auction event, and this is the perfect time to have another one,” he said.
“The whole world is focusing on the Gold Coast at the moment.”
