Phillip Lee celebrates 30 years in real estate
Phillip commenced his real estate career as a salesperson on Monday, 15 October 1984 after working in the television industry for over four years.
After studying by correspondence for four years he completed a certificate of business studies in real estate and obtained an estate agents licence.
On Saturday 1 April 1989, in partnership with Trevor Booth, he opened Booth & Lee and in August 2011 after 22 years as Booth & Lee they joined Australasia’s biggest real estate group, Ray White.
Whilst it has been a lot of hard work, Phillip said he has met some lovely people along the way and has enjoyed putting smiles on peoples faces as they moved into their new home, started building on their new block or opened a business in new commercial or industrial buildings.
Phillip said there has been massive changes in technology over the 30 years with the introduction of mobile phones and he can remember paying $3,750 for a handheld Motorola flip phone.
He used his first computer in 1989 when they opened the office and they introduced computerised signwriting to real estate signs in 1989, a change from signwriters using hand brushes to paint the signs.
Once of his proudest moments has been putting the first Ballarat property on the internet in November 1995 on review.com.au, most of the other agents thought they had lost the plot.
Phillip said he wished to thank his family, the many friends who have supported him, current work colleagues and staff who he had worked with over the years. And he wished to say a big thank you to the thousands and thousands of property owners who have chosen him to sell their property over the years.
