Hot auction for Glendower Dam assets

The Queensland government offloaded more than $3.4 million worth of surplus property at public auction in Beaudesert this week when it offered properties that were once earmarked for the former Glendower Dam.

Ray White Beaudesert director Ed Dalton and Ray White Rural Queensland agent Peter Douglas marketed the six properties which were a combination of large agricultural holdings, residential houses and lifestyle properties.

“The first lots that sold were all lifestyle blocks of between 50 and 100 acres, two were bare and one had a little house on sold,” Mr Douglas said.

“There was excellent competition today and more than 30 registered bidders.”

The largest holding was a 476 acre property that sold for $1.850 million to Nick and Kate Cameron, the long-time managers of nearby cattle farm Nindooinbah.

Four of the six lots sold under the hammer for a total of $3.4 million. The agents are in negotiations with buyers for the remaining two lots that passed in on the day.
