Former showbiz guru puts Willoughby home on the market

Linda Monmouth, a former high profile public relations guru turned tour guide is putting her Willoughby home up for auction with Ray White Lower North Shore selling agent Danny Grant.

With a price guide of $1.6million plus, the dual level and four bedroom home will go to auction on 31 May.

The social local, who was once the Head of Advertising & Public Relations for United Artists, Paramount and Universal Pictures has worked with a string of celebrities during her successful career, including big names such as Robert DeNiro, Mel Gibson, and even some of the well known James Bond actors.

She brought her skills to Australia, becoming the first person in the country to introduce product placement in movies and local television programmes.

“It was unheard of at the time, and it took a while for people to grasp the concept,” she said.

Having had a brief stint as a tour guide in Europe, before she took on PR, Linda returned to the tour guide industry here in Australia, and continues to operate her own business GuidesBiz.

The home at 24 Chaleyer Street, North Willoughby is designed to be low maintenance, ideal for social gatherings, and suited to a family lifestyle, according to selling agent Diane.

Linda said she loved the peace the quiet street offered, and the outdoor social living lifestyle.

“I have loved living here because it is so quiet and close to everything that I need. We have really enjoyed living outdoors and enjoying the really social atmosphere this home has to offer,” she said.

Linda is downsizing and returning to Neutral Bay, after almost 30 years in Willoughby to be closer to her work. She hopes to see a growing family take on the home and make it their own.

“I really hope a lovely growing family buy this house and extend the kitchen area into a large indoor/outdoor family room – because the area still offers plenty of room for a large garden and pool,” she said.

The auction will be held onsite, at 11am on 31 May.
