Eastern suburbs communities come together for a good cause
Ray White Double Bay are hosting a free family fun day and outdoor movie night to raise much needed money for Variety – The Children’s Charity.
The event will be held on 24 September at Steyne Park, Double Bay with the aim to raise enough money to fund a Variety bus, which will help provide transport for children who are otherwise unable to experience excursions and other important learning experiences.
Partnering with Variety as their charity of choice through the Ray White Double Bay Cares community programme, Principal, Craig Pontey said the cause is one that can’t be ignored.
“We currently donate $100 from every sale to Variety and our staff regularly give their time as volunteers at events. We wanted to go one step further and host our own event that would not only raise money, but would bring the eastern suburbs communities together.
“We’re asking everyone who can make it to please come down for a couple of hours to support this important cause,” he said.
Starting at 3.00pm, the family fun day will include jumping castles, face painting, a petting zoo, cupcake decorating, food trucks and entertainment.
“We’ll have Bryce Hegarty and Brad Wilkin from the Waratahs Super Rugby squad come down for the afternoon with activities-galore for both children and their parents,” Mr Pontey said. “It will be an afternoon well spent.”
Immediately following the fun day, an outdoor movie ‘Zootopia’ will air in the park from 5.30pm.
The Ray White Double Bay team are hopeful they will raise the funds needed to get another much-needed Variety Bus on the road for children in need.
Steyne Park is located on the corner of Ocean Avenue and William Street in Double Bay, right on the Bay’s foreshore next to the Double Bay Ferry Wharf.
