Energetic, highly professional and with a solid background in Real Estate spanning the past 15 years, David’s experience incorporates working as a residential Real Estate Sales Consultant before moving into the roles of Chief Auctioneer for the Harcourts Group and more recently as an associate in Ray White QLD’s corporate office. His time in corporate proving invaluable and serving to consolidate his practical experience and hone his focus on the importance of training and staff development. David and his team managed to get an auction sale on a nearby property similar to ours at a price around $100,000 more than expectation, so I was interested to see what he could do for our property. We think agents are paid far too much of the vendor's profit for the service they provide so we weren't convinced we would sell - but refreshingly - we found David to be a rare and wonderfully unorthodox agent. He was refreshing in that he didn't try to tell us how fabulous he was and what a great negotiator and how much we needed him. He just said (basically) what do you want, I'll try to give it to you. We were nervous about the idea of selling but David was open, calm and flexible at every step. He said he would work hard for four weeks to give us the best chance at auction. A short, sharp campaign with $3000 up front to cover his immediate out of pocket costs. (If I advertised our property myself DIY in a priority position it would have cost me that much - and David included much more for that, his staff's time, photos including a drone, flyers, attending Opens in person, even his services on auction day - assuming we had more than one party interested in buying.) David didn't try to 'crunch' us and tell us the 'market' wasn't where we wanted to be - he reassured us at every stage that he could handle us backing out if we didn't get the price we wanted. ("You win some, you lose some" was his attitude and this supported us to feel in control. This was very important to us in selling a major asset we were emotionally attached to - not feeling the pressure from the agent to ensure he gets his cut no matter what was very refreshing. Ultimately, on auction day, we didn't get the 'crazy price' we wanted but we decided to sell because David and his team got a good cross section of registered bidders on the day and the price got up to $100,000 above what most people expected - which is what I asked of David as a 'minimum requirement' for us to proceed to sale. David achieved this milestone and we decided to sell and give ourselves an option for a new start elsewhere. We think the new buyers will be very happy too - they got a great block of land at a very fair price. David and his team got paid - far too large a cut of our profit - but - they also achieved our minimum requirement to proceed to sale - so fair enough. We couldn't have achieved this price without an agent and David and his team made the process bearable. David made it about us - which is refreshing and much appreciated. We are grateful for his gentleness, openness, generosity and lack of ego throughout the whole process. Going one step further, David also asked us to Christmas drinks, he is a modest and hard working industry professional who loves his AFL. We liked his other clients and he was kind enough to think of offering us some of his family's preloved furniture (still in fabulous condition) when he upgraded - since he noticed at our Opens that we didn't really have many nice things - that is very thoughtful and shows he kept his eyes open. He has showed faith in us and our integrity at every turn and we feel he has honoured who we are as people during the difficult process (for us) of selling an asset that we cared deeply about. We rate David highly as someone who is open to learning. David actually listened to us and what we wanted and then set about trying to deliver with no subtle pressure to get his own needs met ahead of ours. He treated us like we think agents should treat their clients - like it's an enormous privilege to sell such an important and expensive asset as a family home. Clients pay dearly for an agent's service in the current system - agents get paid more than medical specialists who save lives and while we think this definitely needs to change and will change - it's nice that David acknowledges he's paid very well for what he does and it is much appreciated by us that David constantly reassured us that if we did not get a price we were delighted with, we should not sell (but please ring him next time and give him another chance!) Anyway, we are very happy with the service of David Treloar and his team. David was completely unknown to us two months ago and it was so refreshing to find an agent with his approach. We wish him well in achieving his personal goals, as he bothered to take the time to make our personal goals his priority.

Our Lucky Day It was indeed our lucky day when my wife Janelle came across David Treloar while he was taking out his wheelie bin a few weeks ago. She asked him whether he knew of a local gardener who might be able to trim our hedge, as we were tidying up the property prior to putting it on the market. David, whose home was only two houses away, did. He offered to get in touch with him on our behalf. And he revealed that he was a real estate agent, happy to assist us with our marketing of the house, should we require his services. David was aware of our property, of course, and enthusiastic about our prospects of finding a buyer. From that day forward, David could not have been more approachable, more accessible, and more professional. His advice was always sound; his knowledge of the neighbourhood and the market was impressive; and he always gave us the feeling that he was very much on our side. We live on the Sunshine Coast and it was of great comfort to know that we had somebody close at hand to deal with little things like meeting tradespeople on our behalf, putting out the rubbish and, of course, finding a gardener for us. It saved us long treks. Real estate agents don't usually do these kind of chores, but we came to think of David as a friend, and we didn't think twice about asking him for help. Excellent agent and always put my best interest first. As a first time seller i was very uneducated on the sales process and in tern nervous and overly emotional. David made the process very easy for me and always had my best intentions at the top of the list. There was no pressure from him which made it easier to make the right decision for us.
