Award Winning Dryridge Estate Offered for Sale for the First Time

The award winning boutique vineyard Dryridge Estate, owned by the Tyrrell family, is the only commercial vineyard in the Blue Mountains. Founded by the late Bob Tyrrell and his wife Barbara 15 years ago, Dryridge is now being offered for sale via auction by Ray White Blackheath Principal Alan Gregory.

Mr Gregory said: ‘It is a unique property, it’s so versatile in what it offers and with the location in the heart of the Megalong Valley, so much natural beauty and only two hours’ drive from the Sydney CBD.

“Dryridge Estate offers an opportunity for a lifestyle business or a unique private residence.

“On approximately 51.4ha, the property includes a profitable wine business with approximately 5ha of vines under trellis, substantial grazing land with stream frontage, beautiful waterfalls and private natural swimming holes.

“The accommodation consists of a substantial three bedroom family homestead together with a custom built cellar door with covered outdoor entertaining venue. A separate fully self-contained two bedroom cottage (Sunrise Lodge) is currently running as a successful holiday let destination, with DA approval for a second lodge.

“The Homestead and Sunrise Lodge at Dryridge Estate are both luxury residences boasting extensive vineyard and valley views across to the iconic Blue Mountains escarpment.”

Mr Gregory said on-site infrastructure includes a large equipment shed, a 100,000 litre and a 40,000 litre water tank, a wool shed, cattle yard, complete operational machinery for the vineyard, including tractors, trimmers, irrigation system and netting machines.

“Dryridge Estate pioneered viticulture in the Blue Mountains and is the only licensed producer of local mountains wine,” he said.

“In the boutique vineyard the vines are hand-tended and hand-picked with varieties including Riesling, Shiraz and Cabernet.

“The grapes are taken to Orange to be bottled and returned to be sold through the cellar door or online.”

Dryridge Estate, which is managed by Barbara Tyrrell and her youngest son Matthew, will be offered for sale by auction at Blackheath Golf Club from 12 noon on Sunday, April 12, 2015.
